Oneway’s Safe Driver is an alternative to the standard spur drive. It’s great for training or practice – if you have a catch, the workpiece will spin on the safe driver – limiting damage to the project and potential for injury.The Safe Driver is a good way to learn a light touch and good tool control.If you cut too aggressively, the workpiece will stop.

The Safe Drive comes in three versions:

• The #1 Morse Taper Safe Driver has an adjustable steel center pin.
• The #2 Morse Taper Safe Driver(pictured above) has an adjustable, spring-loadedsteel center pin.

The ShopSmith Safe Driver is made specifically to fit the 5/8″ smooth spindle of ShopSmith machines and has an adjustable steel center pin.

The nose of the Safe Driver is about 5/8″ in diameter and holds a steel center pin that about 1/4″.
