No-Lock Lathe Spindle Washers

Have you ever had a faceplate or a chuck lock itself so tenaciously on your lathe spindle that only creative violence could free it? (We might just as well ask “have you ever used a lathe?”) Though it’s perfectly reasonable to wonder what took so long, here is a simple, inexpensive and totally effective solution. Slip a plastic Spindle Washer onto your spindle nose, then install your chuck or faceplate as usual. Tighten as firmly as you please; when you’re ready, you’ll remove the accessory with no more effort than it took to install it. Good deal!
