ECE hand planes combine Emmerich’s meticulous quality with the economy of traditional hammer-set irons secured with wooden wedges.Heavy irons are solidly bedded for smooth, clean performance.Bodies are dense European beech and soles are long-wearing hornbeam.As in all Emmerich planes, the workmanship is simply outstanding.

This unique wooden plane is made for creating the tongue in sliding dovetail joints.Hornbeam sole is 2-1/8″ by 9-1/2″ and is sloped at 10°.The iron is ground to match.An adjustable, 4-sided carbide knife spur helps reduce tear-out across end grain.A steel fence determines the width of cut, up to 1-5/16″.Maximum shoulder depth is 7/8″.The 1-5/16″ iron is set and adjusted with a hammer.
