Splitting wood along its length requires a wedging force to work in combination with the cutting edge action. The Biber Classic Splitting Axe by Mueller Forge has a unique forged head design with slightly raised, tapered & flared side cheeks that help wedge apart the wood, working in concert with the edge cutting force. Includes leather blade sheath.

Size

• Small Splitting Axehas a 1200g (2.6lb) head on a 60cm (23-5/8″) long hickory handle. The cutting edge is 10cm (3-15/16″) wide.
• Large Splitting Axehas a 1800g (4lb) head on a 75cm (29-1/2″) long hickory handle. The cutting edge is 10cm (3-15/16″) wide.

All Mueller axes are hand-forged in Austria.
