Auriou 12 inch Half Round Roughing Rasp – The Hog

The Auriou 12 inch Half Round Roughing Rasp is used to remove the maximum amount of wood in the shortest possible time. It has a curved top surface and a flat bottom surface like the Cabinet Rasps, but it is thicker and has a very coarse grain 3 stitch. “The Hog” reduces your bandsaw blank to more closely resemble to the shape you want (think cabriole leg, guitar neck, gun stock, decoy duck blanks etc). After rough shaping with this rasp, you would finish the surface of your project with a Cabinet Rasp.
